Virginia United Football Club (VUFC) is the most popular community football club in the northern suburbs of Durban and has a long and proud tradition that has carried through generations of members. VUFC welcomes both boys and girls from under 6 age group right through to the open age group.

Virginia United Football Club was founded in November 1968 by a group of Durban North parents. Mr. & Mrs. Barber, Mr. & Mrs. Fitzel, Mr. & Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Morasutti, Mr. Bowman, Mr. Molholland and Peggy started with 5 teams, 2 x U10, 2 x U12 and 1 x U14 playing games on a park in Glenashley neighbouring Mrs. Morasutti’s residence.

Through the persistence of Paula Barber and the help of the then Mayor and Trevor Warman, the club moved to Danville Park, increasing in size throughout the seventies, eighties and until the early nineties when Virginia United Football Club was recognized as the largest amateur club in the Southern hemisphere.

Our Mission & Vision

Virginia United Football Club is a fully inclusive community based Football Club, which encourages skill development, fitness, fair play and teamwork.

The club is dedicated to the growth and excellence of its boys, as well as encouraging the virtues of pride and loyalty of representing the local community, by providing a pathway for its young players as they move through the club's junior age groups.

The administration of the VUFC will be professional, transparent and fair. All duties will be carried out honestly and with integrity.

We are committed to improving the infrastructure of our club and providing a friendly, welcoming and enjoyable sporting environment for all.

As a non profit community organisation, our players and families are our club. We are fully dependant on volunteers giving their time freely for the successful running of the club.

The VUFC Executive Committee is responsible for the management of the club, and its members are elected at the AGM.
