Registration is now open, so if you haven’t yet done so, please get hold of your age group manager or coach and then download and complete the two registration forms:
The SAFA Junior Registration form requires a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate and three colour passport sized photographs. The form then needs to be stamped by your child’s school. Make sure the stamp is done over the photograph
The above documents must then be returned to the relevant age group coach for processing
Membership fee for the 2019 season is R950 per player (siblings pay R800) and can be paid either by EFT or Zapper. Please note that we will not accept cash payments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- When does the season officially start ?
We haven’t yet received the fixture list from the DCFA, as soon as we do we’ll update the website, Facebook page and your age group manager will let you know. In terms of practices, some age groups have already started and some are due to start in early March – Your age group manager will inform you when your age group is due to start practices.
- How old does my child have to be to play soccer?
Our youngest age group is under 6. Kids born in the year 2012 (I.e. 5 years old, turning 6 this year) fall into this age group. We will happily accept younger kids in this age group but if your child is younger than 5, rather chat to Jade, our Under 6 guy, first as you might want to bring them down to see if they like it before registering.
- When is the registration period?
Registration is open now and we will close registration on 10 April 2019 just before we submit our final team numbers to the DCFA. Of course we will never turn any boys away so in the event that you are late to register, please contact your head coach or manager directly and will make a plan !
- What is included in the registration fee?
You child will receive a complete VUFC kit (including socks) for the season. The kit (shirts and shorts) will be returned to the club at the end of the season, but you can keep the socks ! Each age group will be adequately stocked with balls, cones, bibs, and all the equipment needed for the season. Your registration fee also covers all ground maintenance (Goalposts, field markings, grass, lights etc.) and matches during the season. Note: The registration fee does not cover any special tournaments that are held during the season.
- How can I register my child?
Easy ! Get hold of your age group manger or coach, they will add you to their Whatsapp Group or equivalent means of communications, complete and return the two registration forms and make payment and you’re done ! Note: If you are EFT-ing, please put your child’s name and age group s the descrtiption. I.e. ‘Bob Smith – Under 6’
- My child is playing another sport that clashes with football, how flexible is the club if my child alternates his sports on a weekly basis ?
Discuss this with your age group manager or coach directly – This might be disruptive in the older competitive age groups but not that much of a problem with the younger kids (Like under 6’s and 7’s)
- How much are the registration fees?
Registration fee is R950 per child. Siblings pay R800 each.
- What does my child need to wear ?
Matches are played in official club kit which your child will be supplied with once registered. Kids can wear anything to practices but please ensure they have a good set of football boots and shin pads
- When does the season end ?
The football season is generally the longest season of junior sport and will end round September. Once we have the confirmed fixture list from the DCFA we will have a clearer picture of when the last games will be.
